The Prince Edward County Board of Superviors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 @ 7:00 PM at the courthouse in Farmville, VA. This is your opportunity to speak to the Supervisors about what Gabriel Energy has planned for our neighborhood with it's clearing of over 600 acres of trees that abut two waterways to be replaced with over 100,000 (poisonous) cadmium telluride solar panels and the installation of a potentially dangerous battery energy storage system covering six acres.

Ultimately, we pay the taxes to provide these companies the incentives, we pay higher utility rates because of Solar's inefficiency, we change our rural communities to accommodate these solar farms displacing wildlife and solar farms don’t improve our climate or our environment, and it can potentially ruin the land for ourselves, our children and our grandchildren.

We are your actual neighbors living in Meherrin, VA, on one of the roads that will be affected by the 1,000 acre industrial-sized solar "farm" and a seven-acre battery storage system proposed by Gabriel Energy, an Energix (Israel-based) mega corporation. We have learned that projects of this size have a devastating impact to the environment (soil and water), wildlife, provide questionable economic benefits to the local community and undermine residential property values. On this site, we are providing valuable information, resources, and research to assist our neighbors and those in our county to oppose the establishment of industrial-sized solar "farms" in Prince Edward County, Virginia. We can't be the only ones taking up this fight; you must speak out, too.
